Dallas, TX, October 23-25:
• For 2010 we will have a ten round series. Pairs of events at Tishomingo, OK; Exeter, RI, Cayuta, NY; Cotapaxi, CO; and Donner Ski Area, Norden, CA. NATC year end awards to those who finish six of the ten rounds.
• No change in entry fees for 2010.
• Best National Award for 2009 to Green Mountain Plonkers for their excellent two day event at the Carman Brook Farm in Highgate, Vermont.
• Thanks to our 2009 organizers: Nebraska MWTA, STRA and TI at TTC in Tennessee, Green Mountain Plonkers and D4 in NY
• A new, easier line and class called “Clubman” (CM) is being introduced on a trial basis for 2010 at most of the venues. It is aimed at expanding participation for local riders that ride at more of an intermediate skill level. There will be no year end NATC award for the CM class, but there will be trophies at each event for this class.
• The Twin Shock class will ride the CM line where available.
• Big thanks to D4 in NY for volunteering to host back to back Nationals in 2009 and 2010. Rhode Island was unwilling to go alone as the only east coast event, so without D4, it would have been a completely Western states series in 2010.
• Expected venues in 2011: Tennessee, New Mexico, Vermont, North Texas
• We did NOT adopt the FIM “Dynamic Trials” scoring system. Too little is known about it at this time.
• Minor rule change to not allow floating an axle over a gate marker. Both axles must go through a gate in the section.
• Youth Nationals at TTC in July and Las Vegas, NM in August.
• NATC will solicit participation by riders (not just the Pros) in 2010 meeting to help expand and invigorate the NATC.
• 2010 NATC sponsors at this time include Sid Mauldin of Specialty Welding Machines (SWM), Gas Gas and RYP.
• Big emphasis in 2010 is to have riders complete an annual release with AMA to greatly speed up the dreaded sign up process at each event.
• USYTRA drawing for Oset won by Jim Westcott of OK, who subsequently donated the bike back to USYTRA—big thanks!
• New inductees into the NATC Hall of Fame - Shan Moore, Ron Commo Sr. & Ted Gansberger.
• As usual, we have a tremendous group of volunteers—without them, there would not be a national series!
