2008 District Four Trials Committee
Organizers’ Meeting Agenda
March 30, 2008
(1) Loop marking – Orange and black arrows
(2) Section marking – Standard START/FINISH markings; red triangles for right hand boundary, white rectangles for left hand boundary. Use of tape for boundaries is encouraged, but is up to the discretion of organizer. Please use red tape for right hand boundaries, and either white or blue for left hand boundaries.
(1) New website is fantastic. Learn the address and share it with other.
(2) Try and cross link it to any other motorsport websites. (ex – John Delalys worked out a cross link with his motocross site and had our schedule posted in their newsletter).
(3) Trials Central Website – I have posted our schedule in their forums and have received some feedback from prospective riders. We need someone to write a short article after each event to post in the news section of Trials Central. The article could also be posted on our website, and sent to other media outlets. Chris Denton???????? any other volunteers.
(4) Photos for the website/news articles – anyone know of a spouse/friend who likes photography?
(5) Give out schedules to everyone you know – See me for copies if you need, or just make copies and give me the receipt.
(1) Have an extra bike at all events for prospective riders to try.
(2) Everyone should go out of their way to meet and greet new/prospective riders.
(3) Mike Komer – trials demos
(4) Bicycle/kids sections at 10:00??????????? Similar to NTR?????
(1) Mike Komer – survey and schedule to former members.
(2) Can anyone get a list of D6, 3D and NTR riders – we should mail those riders a schedule.
(3) Bob Slater’s idea – phone call/email to current riders who do not show up after an event or two to find out why.
(1) Separate D4 events for Vintage riders?????????????/
(2) Encourage vintage friendly lines at the events and market to Vintage clubs??????????????
(3) Other ideas for Vintage promotion.
(1) Dave Reed Sr. has tentatively agreed to let us have a National
(2) Great location – terrain, parking, approval of Town, etc.
(3) If we do this, we need to come together as a club to do it – not just one or two people doing all the work.
(4) Should use this opportunity as a team building event and draw us closer together as an organization
(5) New three day format??
(6) Financials – Jim Hensley has suggested that his group in Colorado expects to net over $10,000 this year because of three days and new NATC financial rules. Use bulk of proceeds for publicity for Committee.
Finally, I think that we need to pull together as a Committee and get the sport back growing – Too much infighting. Let’s try and learn everyone’s name and encourage everyone to participate in the running/management of the Committee. If there is something that someone thinks they can do to help the sport, let’s try and encourage it. TEAM EFFORT.
